The Hotel Alcántara is located in the Juderia quarter in the center of Seville, on a small pedestrian street. The Cathedral and Reales Alcázares, Seville's two most famous monuments, are located less than five minutes away. The 21 room family run hotel is well known in Seville for its excellent service and high standard of quality while maintaining affordable prices. The hotel offers daily continental breakfast buffet with indoor as well as outdoor seating in a large open air patio. Free high speed WiFi internet access is available throughout the entire hotel. The unique architecture of the building offers a combination not often found in Seville. All rooms are interior and therefore very quiet. At the same time there is plenty of natural light and an exterior feel to almost every room because of the large central patio featuring a large palm tree and other plants. The same can be said for the ground floor breakfast room, which features large windows which face the same patio.

Guest rooms in the Hotel Alcántara are distributed over three floors, all of which are directly accessible via the elevator/lift. All rooms feature a full, private bathroom, air conditioning and heating, telephone and satellite television. Furnishing are elegant and contemporary in style, and complimented by soft wood floors. Every room has at least one window overlooking the patio.

Guests enter the building through a large outdoor foyer, which the hotel shares with the Casa de la Memoria, a museum dedicate to Jewish history of Seville as well as nightly flamenco performances. Behind the double glass doors guests will find reception to the right, with the breakfast area directly in front. To the left large windows look onto the central patio with several tables and chairs. Adjacent to reception are the stairs and elevator leading to the guest rooms on the upper floors.

The Hotel Alcántara is located in the heart of the pedestrian only area of the Juderia and Santa Cruz quarters, just a few minutes away from the Cathedral. This is a wonderful location for walking to all of the major monuments and sights in the city center. Guests can easily reach the central shopping district as well as the Jardines de Murillo (Murillo Gardens), the University of Seville and the Parque Maria Luisa. The location is perfect for exploring Seville, in the middle of two of the most typical quarters that the city has to offer. On our first visit we were impressed with the rare combination of quiet, yet bright guest rooms, due to the large open air patio. We also like the emphasis on both service and comfort: the family is well known and very experienced for their dedication to offering excellent service. They also operate Hotel Alminar as well as a small hotel in charming town of Vejer e la Frontera. Rooms offer comfortable beds, while the common areas have been well designed to offer space and natural light, creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. We especially like the collection of black and whites photos of the city which decorate the breakfast room. We also like some of the the smaller details of the hotel service: laptop rental at very reasonable rates for guests who need to connect, a safe place to store bicycles, and a high quality coffee machine in the breakfast room, a wonderful plus for good coffee in the morning, or even an afternoon cup. |
