Hostal Apartments San Bartolome are situated in the old Jewish Quarter of Seville, equidistant to the Cathedral and the Casa de Pilatos. The building entrance faces the San Bartolome church, once the site of a synagogue. The location is excellent, with the plazas and cafes of Santa Cruz nearby, as well as several green spaces such as the Murillo Gardens and the Maria Luisa Park. While situated amongst the narrow pedestrian streets of the historic center, it is also just a few blocks from Menendez Pelayo Avenue, and within walking distance of the Santa Justa train station as well as the Prado bus station. For travelers wanting more space, a private bath and kitchen facilities, all for the economical prices of a hostal room. The Hostal Apartments San Bartolome come highly recommended for the additional space. Family owned and operated for almost 20 years, the the apartments have all been recently renovated, featuring new bathrooms and kitchens. The building has a private entrance, but is now connected via the roof terrace to the Hostal La Montoreña. We especially like the location, sharing the narrow walkways and typical Sevillian buildings which make up the Hotel Casas de la Juderia. Very close to the building we find two churches which were once synagogues - the previously mentioned Iglesia San Bartolome and Iglesia Santa Maria la Blanca. The back of the Iglesia San Bartolome is directly in front of the apartment building. The latter structure is emblematic of the old Jewish quarter in Seville. The ground floor location, with most windows facing the interior patios means the apartments are naturally very cool in the summer months, and there is little noise from the surrounding streets. The family who operates the hostal and apartments also owns a local travel agency a few blocks away, and are always available to help with train tickets or other travel services. |
