In English language onlyFeria de Abril 2008Seville, 12 April 2008Saturday afternoon at the Feria de Abril. We had to wait until the weekend, as there were heavy rains during the first days of Feria.  The women preferred to take the shuttle bus to the Feria from the Prado de San Sebastián. It would have been faster walking, but we understood the decision: the esparto shoes are brand new and not very comfortable for walking long distances.  This years's portada was inspired by the Costurero de la Reina. The original is a small historic building loctated next to Maria Luisa park.  Our fist stop is the caseta of Fernando.  During Feria his dress code and behaviour is of course quite traditional.  Fernando's wife, Ana Maria, chatting with Manuela and Georgette.  Little Matias is enjoying the attention.  Just outside the caseta, a cousin of Fernando lends his horse to Matias for a photo.  Now it's Manuela's turn for a quick trip up and down the street.  Our next stop is Mariano's caseta. Pablo and Luisa are already waiting for us.  A bottle of manzanilla, a dry sherry, which is the traditional drink at the Feria.  Luisa and Georgette dancing Sevillanas. Close Window |
