Horse Carriage Ride

Seville, 2 May 2005

A tour from the Cathedral to Maria Luisa park, and back.

We get on board at Plaza del Triunfo, just behind the Cathedral.

The Alcazar to our left, Archivo de Indias in front, and Plaza del Triunfo to the right.

Juan, the driver, with the Cathedral in the background.

Manfred and Walter seem to be enjoying the ride so far.

Passing the Puerta de Leones, which is the main entrance to the Alcazar.

We are now on Paseo de las Delicias, with the Palacio de San Telmo in front.

The Guadalquivir river on our right.

Turning left at El Costurero de la Reina, the Queen’s Sewing Room. This is now a tourist office.

We are entering Maria Luisa park.

Juan, our driver, standing upright while chatting with a colleague.

Reaching Plaza de America, we see the famous white pigeons in the foreground and the Archeological Museum in the background.

Entering Plaza de España, where we stop for a few minutes.

Helga descending the carriage steps.

After taking some photos we get back on board for the return trip.

Passing behind the University of Seville, the former Fábrica de Tabaccos.

Arriving back to another view of the Alcazar walls.

At the end of our tour we say goodbye to Juan. He is already cleaning the horse and carriage for his next guests!
